Just
because you are a non-profit doesn't mean you don't have to create
awareness - and raise money, and do marketing, and serve a community.
They
will remember you easier with a name that is unique. And when
you go to the state, the feds, the wealthy, etc., you want to
stand out from the crowd. You don't want to be confused with competitors,
partners and sister organizations.
But
you probably have a lot of volunteers with lots of long descriptive
names. How are you going to get resolution on a final name? How
are you going to facilitate the process?
