Background:

This name has bothered us for quite a while. The only reason it scored any points at all is because of its legal availability and uniqueness. We understand how inexperienced namers put word roots together to create new words. And for them in their specific niche and industry they often see only what they want to see - subconsciously or otherwise.

But when you use this naming technique (or any other for that matter), you need to do a reality and sanity check on it. Sure, some wag will manage to make a joke about any name. But at least make sure that most of the world does not immediately sense sexual overtones to the name unless you are in the sex industry.

Obviously this name has not stopped the company from reaching a certain level of success, as they have recently been acquired by Veritas. See www.ejasent.com.

Update: Veritas is now part of Symantec.
