A
name is not a brand. It is merely the handle or shorthand for
the brand promise. But it is very, very important, and has a major
psychological affect on all constituents. They are also valuable
parts of the whole brand story, and are carefully protected by
trademarks.
At
the same time, they are often created in strange and peculiar
ways, resulting in some stomach-churning results. So it is time
we judged some and handed out awards - and what is more appropriate
than a beautifully engraved brandy snifter and certificate (picture
shortly).
